Every recording, note and finding, auditable per client and session. PDF export with a single click — ready for the file or for handing out.

Recognise patterns again

Label an interesting region once — the software finds similar cases from your own earlier sessions and shows you how you assessed them the last time.

Collegial second opinion

Optionally, your anonymised experience feeds into a shared community consensus. In return you receive the distilled input of experienced colleagues.

How you work with the software

Start a session

Select the client, start the session, open the live view from the microscope. The app structures files automatically — no more manual sorting.

Record & label

Capture a single image or a video. The app suggests interesting regions; you confirm with ✓ or dismiss with ✗. Every confirmation improves recognition for your next session.

Export the report

Add free-text notes, done. PDF report ready for the client file, for referral or for your own records — all still on your own machine.

Data sovereignty as a principle

darkfield.ch was built from the start so that patient data never leaves the practice. This is not a marketing promise, it is a technical property:

The software does not require an internet connection to run. Recordings, names, notes, reports — everything stays on your practice computer. Even when you take part in the optional community exchange, no images and no patient names are transmitted — only anonymous, non-reversible pattern descriptors.

Legal clarity in Switzerland

darkfield.ch is explicitly not a medical diagnosis device in the sense of the Swiss MedDO. The software supports observation and documentation; the professional assessment stays with you. This clear boundary is the reason the software can be used soundly in the Swiss complementary- therapeutic field.

Frequently asked

Which microscope do I need?

Any darkfield microscope with a USB camera output works. The app speaks the standard Windows camera interface and detects attached cameras automatically. Resolution from 720p upwards; 1080p recommended.

What does the software cost?

The test mode is free and unlimited in time. Full feature set except PDF export and community exchange. Pro licences on request via info@darkfield.ch.

How does the collegial second opinion work?

If you opt in, the app sends anonymous pattern descriptors (no images, no patient names) to our Swiss server. Contributions from all participating practitioners are consolidated there. The result — the „community consensus" — is pushed back to your app weekly and sharpens the pattern recognition on your device. Details: Community.

Can I withdraw my contributions?

Yes, at any time. On request we exclude your pseudo ID from all future community consensus bundles (right to be forgotten under FADP art. 32 / GDPR art. 17).
